President and COO of The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA)
As president and COO of The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA), David McCaig oversees the largest travel agency association in Canada. David has been in the Travel Industry since 1983 and carries a wealth of Out-bound Retail, Wholesale and In-bound Tour Operator experience. During David’s years as the Canadian Sales Manager for Travel Trust International (TTI) and TravelPlus he had the honor of working with many of the ACTA Executive Directors throughout Canada and travelled extensively for TTI /TravelPlus, collaborating with travel agencies and suppliers.
David served on the board of the Travel Industry Advisory Group (TIAG) of the Consumer Protection Authority of B.C. and has established himself as a strong advocate of Consumer Protection in the travel industry. David is the Chair of the CCTA (Canadian Corporate Travel Association) made up of Travel Management Companies such as Amex, BCD, HRG Uniglobe and Vision 2000. David was recently elected to the Vice Chair position of the World Travel Agents Associations Alliance (WTAAA).
David was raised on a farm in Aberfoyle, Ontario where he mastered the practice and won awards in the agricultural breeding and raising of livestock. David loves animals, is an accomplished sailor, likes golfing, is married and a proud father and grandfather. After living in BC for 14 years, David recently returned and settled back to Toronto.
David continues to enhance his knowledge of the travel industry by participating in and on occasion being a keynote speaker at several Canadian and International Travel Industry Conferences, relating to good business practices and consumer protection.
